gurumaster8899 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Is that common? will it weaken your chances? Thanks
aginath Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 It shouldn't weaken your chances, and if anything will show due diligence and effort on your part to match up with the best faculty member for mutual interest. I originally contacted one faculty member and eventually talked with multiple based on recommendations.
rising_star Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Given that you'll have to form a committee of 3-5 faculty members, it makes sense to be in contact with more than one faculty member. That's the only way to make sure your interests will be fully supported in the ways that you need them to be.
socialcomm Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I'd consider it a positive thing too. You want as many people in your corner as you can get!
