rashidha Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) I came to know that GRE score is very important to get admission in the abroad universities. So, I have joined a course for the guidance to prepare for GRE exam. They are helping me in a lot of way. They conduct many mock test to get practice more on English. In that test, I get poor scores in verbal sections. The test day is coming soon how can I prepare for the exam. Can anyone suggest me? GCool Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Well for starters, the verbal section is mostly vocabulary words. I'd say your best bet for big improvement is to get some flash cards and try to memorize a few definitions!

Learning vocab is definitely important, but if English is your second language, it is also very important to practice reading comprehension questions. Just try to read as much as you can. Have you done the practice tests by ETS?
thepsychoblogist Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 For myself, I utilized Magoosh and their free vocabulary ebook of 300+ words. I did many of the questions during commercial break and I would go through video lessons or flashcards during my commute. I wrote all the words I did not know from the ebook onto flashcards and I learned new words at a rate of 25/week. While reading, I also kept a record of words I encountered that I did not know the meaning of (not sure about you guys, but I have a bad habit of just guessing what the word in the sentence is and just continue on). The GRE is hard work! Good luck!
