"Recruiting Visit" interview! Odds that this will lead to acceptance?

I applied to a PhD program in Cell & Molecular Biology. As I said in the title, I got an invitation to a "Recruitment Visit" and interview weekend. This is obviously great news, but it doesn't mean I will get an actual acceptance offer. Does anyone know roughly what my odds are?

I think this is something that varies depending on the school. For one of the schools I'm interested in, their interview acceptance rate for the most recent class seemed to be around 22%. That seems to be on the lower end of things though. From other posts I've seen on here (which I can't seem to find at the moment), there's a pretty large range for acceptance rates..so you probably won't get a consistent number unless you ask someone familiar with your program.

Here, I found an older thread about this. Hopefully we can get some more answers though. I'm interested in hearing what others have to say still.

Also, this was in regards to a neuroscience program but I'd imagine that the same would be true for any science field.

The only way to know for sure is to contact the coordinator of the program and ask - they vary widely, from maybe 20% to 90% or higher.

I don't have an answer for you, but it's certainly good news! They wouldn't spend the money on you unless they were serious.
