But thanks for letting us know you received something. Now I can sit here spam refreshing my inbox all day, like a completely crazy person.

I was very surprised honestly. They said that funding information would be annouced around mid-March and I did not think we would hear until after the FAFSA dealine at least. But I got an email not long before posting on here. I wouldn't freak out too much. I did turn in my FAFSA very early and it may be specific to degree (I was admitted for MPA/MSES). I don't think anybody should worry until after mid-March.

Yeah, I'm not panicking yet, though I will say that the merit award process should have really nothing to do with the FAFSA, though I suppose I cant say that for a fact. Also, you are right that it could possibly be degree specific. I just applied for the MPA portion.

Did anyone else receive funding notifications today?

Yup. I'm going to be freaking out until I hear from them now! On hold to double check that FASFA is on file (it should be, but I want to double check). Congrats on the funding. Do you think you will attend SPEA? I need to look at all my options but I think this is the school for me, assuming I can afford it!

Yeah, I feel a little ridiculous for getting all nervous like this. It would just be nice to have some piece of mind. They did mention over and over again that these decisions are sent out in mid march, and as much as I stretch the definition of that in my head, the 6th is hardly the MIDDLE of the month. I'll call them monday and see what's up.

I received my merit offer today as well. I wouldn't be surprised if others heard at the beginning of next week.

As for financial aid, that is a separate package that we will be notified of much later. I called to ask about that.

Well, hmmm. I guess time shall tell. Congrats to those that got something today. If I may ask, what form did that aid take?

Hopefully the rest of us will hear something soon, one way or another.

Got the coverdell fellow award. Great program but not really a ton of money... Didn't get instate tuition. I really hope they can add some more later on. And to those who are waiting, it's a rolling process.

Ok, really hate to keep bugging you guys and spamming this thread, but where did you hear that it is a rolling process? I guess I need to just be patient on this one, but the nervousness level is climbing!

I was invited to be part of their service corps program. Not too much money but guaranteed for all 5 semesters of the dual degree program.

Congrats on the service core fellowship! I get that it's not much money, but still... being able to acquire relevant work experience as a part time job while in school is a pretty good deal, in my opinion.

Also, thank you Wozezeka for making that call and giving us the info. Gives me some hope. As mentioned above, I suppose it's possible that the first group being notified are those pursuing the dual degree program (I'm just going to keep telling myself that).

For those of you who have been awarded merit aid, are you pursuing a dual degree?

Yes @mumble.

Thank you Sjn092! I am actually pretty excited about that aspect of it. The more experience the better!

Aaaaa still waiting, to hear anything at all!

Of course, my file was finally confirmed as complete only a little over 2 weeks ago, which means I have until next Monday to fret, at least ...but still.

Also, is SPEA sending generic emails to everyone re an Experience Day Chat today/tomorrow? Would be great to hear back from those both accepted and rejected on this, so I can hazard a guess as to where I stand!

Thank you all in advance!  :)

I would really just consider sending them an email asking about your app status. They always respond quickly and will not hesitate to give you any updates they have. Since it hasn't been three weeks yet, and because this is likely a very busy period for them, my guess is that you shouldn't be concerned at this point.

And yes, they are sending me stuff about that chat. I really love the way they have a chat session about everything. Makes getting information really easy and non time intensive.

Ok, so I talked to them today. I was told on the phone that the first round of merit awards will go out NEXT week. So for those of you that were already informed, congrats, I have no idea what that means. For the rest of us, there is evidently no reason to panic and we can all stop spam checking our emails for a little while. Also, I was told that those who are not awarded aid in the first round will be informed of that, something which I personally really appreciate.

As far as assistantships, that application will go out in the early summer.

Hope this was helpful.

What? Ok, obviously it's rolling I guess. I'm just done worrying about it. They told me next week, so what will be will be. Hopefully I'll be at experience day.

Well, my personal confusion aside, congrats! How do you feel about whatever offer they gave you?

Finalllly!! I'm in, folks!

Seems there are chem prereqs (with a lab) required for the MSES portion of the dual degree I'd applied for - didn't see anything about this on the website earlier - so I've been accepted to the MPA but not the MSES. Given the fact that I can still study enviro policy and sustainability within the MPA curriculum, I'm not too bummed!  :)

Merit based offers to be extended mid March onwards, according to the email notifying me of their decision!  :D

For those with acceptances and aid offers, could you let me know how long it took between getting your admits and receiving funding information from SPEA?

Would really help to have an idea of when I should expect an intimation, if one's coming my way!
