atnight12 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I want to gift my female professor a bottle of wine... does anybody know what price-range would be considered appropriate? Alternatively, would a $30 box of Godiva chocolates be "too much"?

Alternatively, would a $30 box of Godiva chocolates be "too much"? I thought about doing food items but then decided against it because I wasn't sure if my professors would want it, or if someone could potentially be allergic to stuff, whatever. It just freaked me out. Wine is a nice sentiment, but then again you'd want to make sure the professor drank to begin with, and that if they did, they liked wine. I just got mine some nice hardbound notebooks and wrote them a letter. I think I spent maybe $40 total for all three of them. If I could've done something even nicer I probably would have, but application fees pulled the plug on my spending money. Lol.
Munashi Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 A Starbucks gift card could also work/be appreciated.

Kleio_77 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Not sure if Purdy's chocolates reach the East coast, but I always gift 'sweet georgia browns' from Purdy's chocolates. I have had two out of three academic influences tell me it was their favourite chocolate. However, all three are originally from the West coast! (Canada).
napoleon87 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 A bag of coffee beans from a local coffee shop (or Starbucks) might be a better alternative to a gift card. That's what I'm doing, at least!
