Gosee11 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) At McMaster website, they said it requires a minimum B+ in the final year of study. Also for U of Toronto it asks for your final year average in their online application. So if I'm applying after my 4A term(first semester of fourth year), does it mean I'm asked only my 4th year grades? But that are only 5 courses? I remember even read somewhere it's your 4th year grades. Does it make sense? Or they are asking your grades within one year scale of your study which will include some 3rd year courses? Gosee11 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Any canadians out there care sharing some ideas?
MathCat Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 If you had completed your degree already, you would know your final year grades, and could put them there. If it's still in progress, I guess you could either say it's in progress (if possible) or give the average of the last year you've completed (I would do the last 2 semesters in this case). If you are really concerned, email admissions and ask what you should put there. When I emailed one program (not either of these ones) to ask a similar question, they told me it wouldn't actually matter what I said, since they just look at your transcript anyway.
TakeruK Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 If you have finished your final year, then give the average for your 4th year grades. If you are finished half of your 4th year, give the average of the last 1 year of courses (i.e. second half of 3rd year + first half of 4th year). If you are not certain, you should check with the department. In reality, it won't matter very much because they will also have your transcripts and can compute your averages too.
