Al216 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I'm applying to mph programs in a few schools including Hunter College, Mt Sinai, UMass, University of Cincinnati... do these schools give interviews? I'm not applying for funding or graduate assistantships.
AlphacentauriC Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I'm not sure about these schools, but most schools give interviews. However, there is a fair share of schools that don't give interviews. Curious...I think whether a school gives interviews or not is the first sentence in the program application FAQs? Have you checked at all? Let me spend two minutes checking mt. sinai.... Zero! I got nothing. I even checked mt. sinai's mph handbook, nothing. They do say that their admission process is rolling, so based on that I can conclude that they don't care about interviews! Download their program handbook[pdf] for the year 2012-2013. Good luck! This is incorrect. Most schools do not give interviews for MPH programs. A few exceptions to this would be Health Policy and Management programs. A few schools do interview for those. As far as the schools you mentioned, I only applied to Mount Sinai and I was accepted without an interview. erpayne and FreeRadical 2
Al216 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 Thanks for the information! greatly appreciated!.
FreeRadical Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) This is still an interesting question for PhD applicants. For my part... - University of Michigan PhD Epi has a Doctoral Program Day in late January / early February. All of their top applicants come at the same time for a sort of speed-dating session with professors. - University of Washington PhD in Global Health does in-person interviews in January/February - Boston University PhD Epi does phone interviews with the particular professor(s) who is interested in your application - UIC PhD Epi doesn't do interviews - Johns Hopkins DrPH in International Health doesn't do interviews Edited January 20, 2015 by FreeRadical
