Well, I didn't get in. I emailed the admissions office last week to see what day they mailed letters. I received an email reply from Diana today letting me know that I was not admitted and that I should receive a letter in the mail soon.

Sad day. This was my first choice school.  :(

I don't think so, but I can't be sure. Her email said, "I’m sorry you were not accepted into the masters program.  You should be receiving a letter from admissions soon." I supposed that could still leave room for being waitlisted, but I doubt it. My mail just came & still no letter. It seems like they sent out acceptance letters first, then the rest. If you email Diana, I bet she'll tell you your result.

Thanks! I am not sure yet since I'd like to hear back from some other schools I applied to first. I'm very attracted to the program though so if I do get accepted elsewhere the decision will be hard!

Also got an invitation to interview on Feb 13 :) I'm both nervous and excited!

Hi futurespeechie,

I am also an applicant but for the transitional masters and was wondering what kind of questions you were asked during the interview ?

Do you have an interview scheduled? I didn't know they did the two program interviews at separate times but congrats! Our interview was with a group and they didn't ask a single question about us, they just wanted to see how we could work together to solve a problem. I'm not sure if the format will be different between programs though but if its the same, then don't bother preparing answers and just be yourself! Hope this helps!

Like stvspeech8 said, it was just a group problem solving task. They gave us a scenario that we needed to find a solution to and observed how we interacted as a group to reach a consensus. There were no additional questions besides giving a very brief, few sentences introduction about yourself. They explained a lot about the program and gave us an opportunity to ask questions, so be prepared with some questions to ask about the program. All in all just smile and be yourself :) good luck!

Great!!! Ok about how many people were interviewed? There were only 20 applicants for the Transitional Masters.

What was your GPA, major etc?

I really hope I get in!

They said they would be contacting me soon!

Yup they are two separate admissions. I honestly thought it was all based on the individiaul!

I'm not sure how many people total were interviewed, I think I heard at least 100 but I could be wrong. It was 4 people to a group. If there were only 20 applicants it's possible they will interview differently. My first bachelor's was in psychology & human development, GPA 3.07. Second bachelor's in speech path GPA 4.0.

Same here. I was accepted to Loma linda - I have an interview with Csuf and csulb but I really like llu so i will mostly likely go there. I liked that there is a hospital and that the university is very healthcare oriented. The problem based learning also unique

I wonder why so few people have been notified of acceptance or rejection. Either no one is posting on grad cafe or the letters are just taking their sweet time in the mail

There weren't a large number of posts on the results page from last year either. I think a lot of people are just not on grad cafe. I just received my rejection letter in the mail yesterday.

I also really like the problem-based learning style and I just got a very positive overall vibe from the people and program. I'd feel confident about getting a good education there and being prepared for the field. The only thing that is holding me back is that it obviously costs more than the state schools, so if I am able to get into a CSU it seems more practical to go there since it's cheaper. We'll see! I don't think I'll hear back from those schools until around April though. :/

I couldn't agree more about the overall positive and warm feeling and that we'd be very prepared for the field. You're right about the cost but since i figure side I went to a csu for undergrad I'm willing to spend more for grad school I guess. Regardless I hope you get accepted to more schools and have an awesome selection!

Hi futurespeechie,

I had another question....

When you received the email notifying you of a interview, how long after that email was the interview scheduled?

Did it take them a lot of time to schedule the group interviews?
