Applying without GRE(s)?

Hello all!

 

Has anyone here applied without having taken the GRE or a relevant Subject GRE?

I took the basic GRE on time but was unable to take the Physics GRE in the fall, and had to apply without a score.

How might schools handle this? (MIT emailed me a few days after I submitted my application, saying they would not read my application without the scores).

If the school requires the score then you need to have the score. It's a part of the application and they won't give you special treatment and just waive admission requirements. It looks really bad if you don't follow the admission instructions.
