anthony218 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 This is my first year applying and with most of my schools sending out acceptances and interviews already it looks like I didn't get in. I am wondering about the benefit and pragmatics of contacting them to find out if there are certain things I could do to make myself "admittable" in future years. What is the best way to approach this? Should you wait until you get a rejection? Is there a reason not to do it? Any thoughts?
Maccabeus Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I wouldn't do anything until you're officially rejected. Don't jump the gun. doyleowl 1
käntekst Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I would definitely wait until you receive official rejections. You never know - you could be waitlisted and still in the running! I don't know any reason not to inquire, as long as you remain polite and simply inquisitive, rather than show hurt feelings or anything like that. My advice would be to ask if they are willing to share with you what they thought to be the strengths and weaknesses of your application. This can let you know what to promote about yourself more next time, as well as what needs improved. Good luck!
greenmt Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I did this last spring. Some responded, some didn't. Overall, I found the feedback helpful this time around.
