Int. Political Economy Question

What are the best schools for IPE? I'm specifically interested in global governance issues - the role of states and multilateral orgs. in the global economy. I am particularly interested in labor markets, although I'd also be interested in departments strong in trade-related issues.

Any thoughts?

Go to Harvard. Between Frieden, Hiscox and Simmons, they've got quite a team.

There are surprisingly few strong clusters of IPE folks at the top schools, but all of them have one or two profs. Apply everywhere, and join the department where you feel you'll best fit in.

To my mind, the most obvious answers other than Harvard are Princeton, Stanford, and UCSD (I know David Lake's new research agenda has to do with global governance issues...), but don't sleep on Wisconsin--I'd put Martin, Pevehouse, and Copelovitch up there against any IPE group out there.
