Eagleeye7 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Hello all! I have offers from LSU and the University of Florida for doctoral program in English and a bit stumped on where to go. Any pros and cons for each program? Thank you.
.letmeinplz// Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Pros for LSU: Cajun food is the best food ever. I may be biased but still... itchy_pickle 1

Eagleeye7 Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 That's a strong point for LSU. Thank you! itchy_pickle 1
thepriorwalter Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 UF started notifying already? When did you hear, if I may ask?  (I'm in the English department at UF currently and can answer questions over PM if you'd like.)Â
rising_star Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 It really depends on your interests and the availability of the professors and course you need to succeed.
Rahat1 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 They both are good. It's really hard to say which one is better. You should do much more research as possible for you before selecting one. If I was you I would choose LSU. itchy_pickle 1
Eagleeye7 Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 UF is a better school academically.
Eagleeye7 Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 UF is a better school academically. Thank you, that was what I was considering and it's a bit of a dilemma as I know LSU has its strong points too...

Eagleeye7 Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 Hello all! I have offers from LSU and the University of Florida for doctoral program in English and a bit stumped on where to go. Any pros and cons for each program? Thank you. I think I need to clarify to avoid any confusion. Actually, I applied to four Schools: LSU, Case Western, Vanderbilt and UF. I received a funded offer from LSU, got waitlisted for funding at Case Western, haven't heard back from Vanderbilt, and have cause to believe UF will make an offer. In the event that UF does, is what I'm really concerned about as I love both Schools. Also, what do you think of Case Western?

(I'm in the English department at UF currently and can answer questions over PM if you'd like.) No formal offer yet from UF, though I have one formal offer with funding from LSU. What can you say about the English program at UF? Do you know much about that of LSU? Thanks a lot!
