Georgia Institute of Technology (Gatech) or Boston University (BU) for VLSI

Hi all.

 

I have got admission from Gatech with one-third time TA and also from Boston University with fellowship in the field of VLSI. The ranks of Gatech and BU are 6 and 42 in US news respectively. I need financial aid to study in US. However, the funding of Gatech is hardly enough and I would have to work very hard to manage RA whereas in BU I have a very good amount of funding. (5 year's committed funding to be precise)

 

i know Gatech is one of the best universities. But I do not know much about BU since I do not have any alumni there.

 

Now I would love to know whether Gatech is worthy enough with respect to BU for going through much hardship during at least the first year of my PhD study?

 

I also would like to know more about BU.
