Email of endorsement?

I got an email from the department head from one of the schools I applied to. At first, I was nervous because it was early and thought it was a rejection notice. Instead, she mentioned being impressed with my interview and was endorsing my application for the final round of decisions (which should be coming this week or early next).

 

This is a good sign...right?

Sounds like a very good sign to me! If she was impressed enough to actually go out of her way to let you know that she'd be endorsing you, I think that's a very good sign. Good luck!
