hummus Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Hey, In my research on Classics grad programs I have noticed new rankings havent come out since 1995! I was wondering what the general consensus is on the top 10 or so overall classics program in the country.
Ardea Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I've never been a big fan of rankings, since they're pretty useless for selecting graduate programs. A student looking to do Bronze Age archaeology would be best served at Cincinnati, for example, which otherwise has a good but not great program. That said, I don't think anyone would dispute that Berkeley, Brown, Michigan, UT Austin, UCLA, and UNC are pretty solidly in the top 10 and are strong in most areas.
