Will I get a different POI

For grad application I had to write down 3 POIs that I would like to work for.

Then I was waitlisted for few days before getting an offer.

Would this mean I will get a different POI? After getting off the waitlist?

I think you should contact the department about it. This probably depends on whether those people are taking on more students.

This is field specific, but in many disciplines it's common to not know for sure who your advisor will be until after your first semester (or later) of grad school. You are frequently competing with other incoming students for limited spots for committee chairs and lab spots with specific individuals.
