sabq Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) Does anyone have experience with a master's program (applied math)? I am particularly interested in how many publications you were able to produce, if any, during the two year period. It seems that one will be very busy with the course work and very little time for research. Thanks Edited March 2, 2015 by sabq
Goliath15 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) I published 1 conf paper and 2 journal papers in applied stats in two years. I pretty much had zero extracurricular activity beyond coursework, TA, and research. You pretty much want to start research asap. Most people in my program didn't want to do research. Those that did usually started too late (summer after year 1). Edited March 13, 2015 by Goliath15
sabq Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Thanks Goliath15. That's amazing. Many (most?) people finish a PhD with 3 publications or less. MLHopeful 1
