grad1492 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I know The Bank section of this forum is dedicated to financial discussions but I wanted input from current or rising biomedical/biological science grad students. I've searched for scholarships and fellowships available to doctoral students in the biosciences and most of them were from NIH, CDC, HHMI as expected. I've also found awards available from these entities so far: 1. AAAS 2. NSF 3. Hertz Foundation (more for physical sciences) 4. American Heart Association 5. SMART scholarship 6. other fellowships from DOE, DOD Can anyone suggest other foundations/institutions/organizations that offer pre-doctoral funding (preferably for bioscience students)?
expandyourmind Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 For minority students there's the GEM and Ford fellowship
aberrant Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) NDSEG, ACS (Cancer). You do need to be aware that HHMI is only available to schools that have at least 1 HHMI investigator, and some other fellowships require preliminary data (i.e. NIH, AHA, etc.) Edited March 10, 2015 by aberrant
