susu Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi everyone, I am from India. I have received two admits. Nuclear engineering at UIUC with RA and Mechanical Engineering at Stanford without any assistantships. I am completely confused and tuition fee is very high at Stanford. If I choose Stanford, I might have to take up heavy loans. So if anyone out there, could you please give me some information about TA/RA and job opportunities at Stanford (Mechanical). Thanks.
Chubberubber Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Have you been accepted into a Masters' program or a PhD?
MathCat Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Is your UIUC offer funded? If so, it's no question to me - go to UIUC instead of Stanford. It's a good school, and Stanford won't offer you enough in opportunities to make up for the extremely high debt you'd take on.

Stanford - When did you receive the offer ? Any idea if all the offers have been made ? And what specialisation ? UIUC is a great school to attend and if you have received funding, you can take up the offer. Edited March 18, 2015 by chandys92
