ljenkinsstark Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 You all seem well-versed on the subject of admission entry, so I'm going to ask for advice as well:) I am applying to MPP programs, and couldn't break the 600 mark on the GRE verbal, although very close. Meanwhile, I received a 750 on the quantitative section. I was a teach for america teacher, and now vp of a non-profit. I am looking to get into the top schools (mainly ucb), do I re-take and boost the verbal, or spend my time elsewhere? HELP!
natofone Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Did you study the vocab? If you already put effort into it, then I'd forget about it and work on other things. If not, it is really easy to raise your score with some study. Just memorize those word lists. Make flash cards (or use a cellphone application). There are a few strategy things to worry about, but really it is all about the vocab.
RiverRunner Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 If you have the resources to retake it, then do it. You still have plenty of time, and you want every piece of your application to scream "you NEED me."
