ms114
Hi, I'm currently finishing up a MA in New Testament at a seminary in S.Cal and I was interested in applying to some terminal masters programs in Classics. What do you guys think of the following: (1) Univ of Chicago (2) Stanford (3) Univ of Michigan (4) Northwestern (5) UCLA I think some of the schools above do NOT have terminal masters, but I still wanted to get your opinion on them nonetheless. My goal is actually to get a PhD in the field of NT but wanted some background in classics before doing so. THANKS
Joe001
Those are some pretty good schools there, though I'm not sure how many accept applicants for a terminal master's degree. Northwestern I believe doesn't actually have a Classics graduate program, but a interdisciplinary degree that allows you to take graduate level courses in Classics. Have you considered a post-baccalaureate program in Classics to give you some experience in Greek and Latin? From what I understand, Columbia, UNC, and Penn have good ones. However, I suppose the problem would be the cost.
