Master first or MIT gap

I first want to find a job after pursuing the Master degree but now I really want to pursue a PHD degree. So there are two choices. 1) read a master then pursue a PHD (I have UIUC MCS, UWM, UCSD MS etc) 2) being a visiting student at MIT for the gap year and publishing some paper then pursue PHD degree for 2016 Fall. Could your guys give me some adivece. I will be really appreciate that!! :)

If you have funding from the school to do the master's, then I would choose one of those programs. If not, do the gap year.
