Kitkat2love
Hi, I'm an undergraduate student finishing the second year of junior college and majoring in communicative Disorder. I have applied to several universities to transfer in the Fall of 2015 and I was accepted to several in California. The two universities which I'm considering are San Diego State University and Long Beach State University. I have visited both Universities and researched on line as far as ranking and costs, but I'm still confused about the selection for transfer. I would like to get anyone's advice who has any knowledge or experience in those schools. I also like to know; 1- How-to steps in selecting the right University for your major. What should I be considering as the most prominent areas to get a better education for the money? 2- How much a party schools(Greek Life), would affect the selection of the school and your success in achieving your education. 3- Does the ranking of the schools should make any difference in selection, in education and future jobs? By US News San Diego is on top 25 in Communicative Disorder major and Long Beach is 130! Does ranking position of the University affects the ability to be hiered easier? 4- If one larger University (Long Beach) has a smaller class room ratio, harder to get into that program, but the ranking of the school is less attractive, should that be affecting my decision? 5- How the percentage of diversity, will affect the Overall education in your experience? 6- Any personal experience with the above Universities in general. I also have noticed the housing and parking are both major problems in any school, so I don't even consider that in my decision. I'll figure them out after I deal with the most important areas to consider first. Thank you in advance.
