Hi guys!

So I received a waitlist notification on March 20th saying that I had been placed in the top tier of the waitlist; it was a very nice email that sounded optimistic. However, April 15th came & went and still no status update. I finally emailed the department yesterday and apparently the top tier is divided into thirds as well... I'm starting to lose hope :( Anyone else feeling that? Congrats to everyone on the waitlist who got in though! (:

Hi! I'm waitlisted in the 1st tier as well.. I had no idea that the top tier is dividing into thirds too. They might as well just give us numbered ranks! I'm wondering when they will start notifying other people. I was expecting to at least have another update email by now... but nothing so far. Do you know how long the first people accepted off the waitlist have to notify them of their decision?

Hi Grace!

Here's the email I got from Erica Popple when I asked for a status update:

Hi Melanie,

Thank you for your continued interest! You are placed in the middle third of the Tier 1 wait list.

Our department has begun to forward offers of acceptance to members on the wait list. This will proceed according to ranking, with a few applicants being offered acceptance at a time. The timeline will depend on the speed of responses and the selection team's decisions as we go along.

When we have reached the number of acceptance responses we need for our Fall plan, we will notify the rest of the waitlist applicants that our process has closed.

Thank you for checking in,

Erica

It's not very informative I'm afraid... Everything is so vague :( I'm trying to stay optimistic though; at least they haven't filled the program just yet haha! Hope you get in!!!

I just emailed, and it looks like I'm in the lower third of the top tier! The waiting continues, but it looks like my chances of getting in aren't very high! *sigh*

This is what she said regarding spots available:

"At this point, we are very close to reaching our plan capacity. I expect that we will fill the available positions from the top of the Tier 1 waitlist, probably within the next week. I can't, of course, give absolutes, since it all depends on the responses we receive. As soon as we have our cohort completed, we will communicate to the rest of the waitlist that the process has closed."

Yesterday I received an email from PDX letting me know that I didn't make the cut. I was in the top tier so I thought I had a chance. Fortunately I have an opportunity elsewhere but this was a let down.
