Do undergraduate accounting classes have any benefit for economics phd programs? I haven't seen any listed as preparation requirements and they're not in people's profiles.

Thanks!

Doubtful. It wasn't the case in my experience; I took a few accounting classes in undergrad and there was no crossover with my grad level coursework. There may be some benefit if you're doing any classes on cost-benefit analysis and/or finance though? Those aren't my areas.

If you can tie the subjects into your research goals then maybe, but they won't make much of an impression on getting you into a school.

Accounting wasn't useful for my econ grad studies. Not much relation between the two.
