Parisienne Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm looking into schools where I could do research in Political Econ/Public Policy. There are the obvious options -- Harvard & Princeton -- with Public Policy programs & PE subspecialties, but I'd like to know what are the other schools on the East Coast that have good PE departments (whether within a Poli Sci department or a Public Policy school). Yale, MIT & NYU all offer PE specializations - are they any good? Has anyone ever heard anything regarding NYU's Hamilton Center in Political Econ? Also, I've been hearing that Yale is very quali-oriented, so I guess I can't help but wonder how good they are in PE. Any other ideas apart from these schools? Thanks in advance!
Penelope Higgins Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Yale definitely has some good political economy folks - you could do a lot worse than working with Ken Scheve, for one.
polecon09 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Different poster here - but I'd also be interested in any suggestions East Coast or elsewhere. Thanks!
bees Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Brown is ranked fairly high in econ and has a decent Public Policy program.
Parisienne Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion I'll look into it!
Penelope Higgins Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Wisconsin is building a nice PE group with Gelbach, Copelovitch, Pevehouse, etc.
