HermoineG Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) Its a good idea to have a thread for this.Tips that I received:o DON’T retell your CVo DO make it personal (i.e., it’s ok to have feelings)o But DON’T make it too personal (i.e., not too many feelings)o DO tell a story that includes: a. the start of your interest in the field b. your relevant research experience and where it’s lead you c. future goals d. specific interest in the program/faculty you’re applying to work witho DON’T talk about “wanting to help people” as your motivation for applyingo DO tailor your statement to each program/potential mentoro But DON’T reinvent the wheel each timeDON’T retell your CV Edited October 2, 2015 by PsychChick hopefullyio 1
