gPDus
Can anyone tell me which of the two has better M.A. program? CCNY or Hunter? Thanks!
thumbrella
No, but I can tell you CCNY is an oppressive place to work, and feels like a prison. Have you checked out either campus? Be Sure to check out the main building at each location and see which you prefer.
gPDus
Thanks for your reply thumbrella.Unfortunately, I am not in US at the moment, unable to visit any campuses in person If anyone can compare the two schools, especially regarding modern/contemporary art or East Asian Art, please share your knowledge and thoughts! neongolden
Also think about Columbia and NYU IFA if you want to come to New York!
weusedtobeus
CCNY 's been selected for the one of the 15 Leading Art History and Curatorial Master's Programs in the US by Artsy. I would say CCNY. https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-guide-15-leading-art-history-masters-programs
modmuse
Hunter is on that list too. If you want a broader and more "traditional" (read: slide memorization) type program, Hunter is a good choice. If you're more interested in modern/contemporary, CCNY is a better choice. Both are great from a financial perspective. Don't pay to get a terminal MA at a place like Columbia -- you're better off just trying to get a PhD instead. FWIW, I like the CCNY campus better Photomontage
