what2do Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Hi was wondering if someone could help answer 2 questions. I was hoping to apply to LSE, which has a no set deadline, rolling admission that opens tomorrow (October 19). I just recently decided to apply to LSE, so I havent heard back from my professor for a rec letter yet. How long do you guys think I have before the program fills up? It's a relatively new program that just started last year, so I'm not sure how popular it is. I guess I was wondering if I could wait till end of November or even December? Also, they allow you to provide your gre score to "supplement" your application if you did well. Are my scores good enough to positively influence my application, or should I just not include them..?Verbal 162 (90)Quant 156 (64)AW 4.0 (56)
hippyscientist Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 GRE has no bearing on "grad school" applications in the UK. LSE is a competitive school so I would expect it to get a lot of applicants, regardless of the newness of the programme. I'd submit as soon as you feel you have your best application.Letters of recommendation will be weighted highly. You also don't mention whether you're applying for a PhD or an MSc - these will be different processes. what2do 1
what2do Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Ok, so i guess providing my GREs isnt necessary then. It's an msc. Thanks for your answer
hippyscientist Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 For MSc's they're generally a lot less competitive in the UK as they're not normally funded. As such, you're probably okay to wait until November. I misread your earlier post so if they provide a section to add GRE score, I probably would provide your score, especially if you're applying for a verbal based programme. what2do 1
