soysauce1030 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Hello everyone~I am applying for this year for 2016, MFA Graphic Design programs. I graduated bachelor's degree in Fashion design and textile from South Korea and I am seriously considering change my career to visual communication. So I am looking into 3 year programs for MFA Graphic Design. My list is Calarts, RISD, Yale and OtisIt is slim chance (I know) but do you think there is any chance of getting in depending on the portfolio? Is there anybody who got accepted for MFA GD without BFA degree of GD or GD career experience? Is there anyone applying the same list of schools?
cpw0021 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I don't think you have to worry about not having a BFA in graphic design. As is the case with most MFA programs unless it is specifically stated otherwise, you don't need to have a degree in the field to which you're applying to get in. If you have a strong portfolio and application overall, you'll be fine.
