Some applications (I'm applying for PhD in Cinema Studies etc.) ask what outside scholarships I have applied for or are applying to. How important do you think it is to mention your are or aren't applying to any? Do you think if we are applying to one then it looks like we are more serious about getting in, appear more resourceful or helps the schools since they won't have to fund you as much should you be awarded this outside grant? I suppose if you already have won a grant it looks great.
