Juliette F Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Hi everybody!I am applying to US PhD programs in Economics. I am currently working as a RA on two very different projects (one in economic theory, the other mostly empirical). Indeed, I wanted to have varied research experiences before specializing in a field and I had the opportunity to work with renowned economists in those two areas. However, in a statement of purpose, is it better to mention future research goals in only one specific field?
Promit B Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Nope. If you have diversified interests, do mention them. You can always narrow it down after you get admitted.
