Submit score with high AWA or high VERBAL?

Hi all,

I took the GRE twice and here are my scores:

GRE1: 155 V/161 Q/4 AWA

GRE1: 158 V/161 Q/3 AWA

Which score should I choose to submit considering I'm applying for a more quant program?

I would call the program, talk to someone in admissions, and ask about:

1. what scores they want for each section

2. whether they weigh some sections more than others

Without that information, I'd probably pick the one with the higher AWA. Many programs will say they want a 4 or better in AWA; I think it looks worse to submit any score that is below average (4 is basically average).
