123hardasABC Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I applied this cycle knowing full well that there's a fair chance I won't get in. In fact, with a low uGPA, no relevant research experience, and geographical restrictions, all odds are against me. But holy fuck the fear of rejection is still real. :|
random_grad Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Try working out a plan B which would be exciting and which might potentially help you in case of rejection. It's nice to have an exciting plan B. Heck, might even become your plan A! StemCellBio 1
Focus Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I'm in the same boat; I know I'm an average-at-best candidate but am still holding onto the dream. It can definitely be frustrating, I'm still putting the finishing touches on some of my applications and it's hard to stay motivated knowing that I'll put so much effort into essays that may only be skimmed or sorted out and binned. Not to mention doubting whether my $90 is REALLY actually well spent. It can be hard clicking that payment button and sending applications off into the void.
