mdn1025 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Hello everyone, I'm hoping to gain some insights into my chances as a candidate given the information provided below. Also happy to accept any suggestions to bolster my application materials. All of my letter writers are affiliated with the University of Chicago along with one from Berkeley. My biggest concern is my GRE quant score. Looking forward to your insights!Research Interests Race, youth political participation, ethnographic methods M.A.-University of Chicago, Social Sciences GPA: 3.80 Methods: Geographic Information Systems, Statistics, Network Analysis B.A.-St. Olaf College, Political science, Asian Studies, Latin American Studies GPA: 3.80 Methods: Ethnography, Qualitative Interviews, Statistics Conferences Midwest Political Science Association (two sessions), April 2016 Work Experience Teach For America Research Associate at a consulting firm Independently contracted data consultant for a foundation GRE Verbal: 163 Quantitative: 153 Analytical Writing: 4.5
cooperstreet Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Your quant will serverly hurt your chances at a top 10 program. If you want to get into a top 10 program, re-take the GREs and do better on the quant portion.
