ziddletwix Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I'm beginning my applications to a bunch of Masters programs in Statistics. I was planning using my resume, but someone mentioned that they might prefer a CV. I know they are very similar, but which one is preferable? Advantages of CV: It will fully cover all of my research. I can go into more detail about what exactly I've done in my research. Advantages of Resume: The reason these are better for jobs is that you can really make the most important stuff sound out. I might not be able to go into the same detail as a CV, but I can make the single page look really good, and make the important information pop out. My worry honestly is that if I have all this space, my stuff will look less impressive, because there's all this space to put detail, and yet I won't have THAT much to put down! Thoughts?
rising_star Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 For academic positions, always, always, always use a CV. Why would you want to highlight your work experience over your research experience?
