IndieDoujinShi Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Hey! I was wondering if anybody knows whether or not Oxford will accept LoRs by teacher who do not have institutional ID? I have the LoR on official letterhead of the college, and I sent in my inquiry to Oxford but they haven't gotten back to me. If anybody has any idea, please let me know.
AnthroAsia Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I think they prefer that references come from an official institutional or professional email. However, one of my referees was unable to upload a reference and the admissions office emailed her a form of some sort, which she completed and emailed to the office. But I am pretty sure they wouldn't want a reference to be sent in by an applicant! This is what they say on the application guide, " from the referee's institutional or professional email address When you register your referees, you must provide their institutional or professional email address. If you register referees with a personal email address (eg Gmail, Hotmail, mail.ru) the University may not accept the reference. You may only register a personal email address if there is no alternative and your referee uses the address for all institutional/professional business." So, It seems personal email is fine, but it has to be registered on the form and the reference has to come from the referee. Good luck :)
