kishan07
Hi, I'm finishing an M.Engg in ECE from University of Utah with a cgpa 3.72. My GRE score was 325( v-161, q-164). I have some working experience as research assistant, I also TAed for microfabrication class. I've cleanroom experience and worked with various fabrication and characterization equipment. Is there a chance I could into PhD programs in schools like UCSB or UCSD? Please state your opinion. Is it a very long shot?
cbowen11
Depends on your letters of Rec but I'd say yes. I don't know what it's like for ECE, but I am a MechE with a minor in Aerospace and got into some top 20 schools with a 3.76 and a 160 on both sections of the GRE. I actually didn;t get rejected anywhere so I retook the GRE and pulled a 165Q and 161 V, and am hoping to get into a top10 school. But yeah idk what those programs are ranked for your field but I can;t imagine they are like top 10, and that said I think you will get in for sure.
