Is it acceptable to send updates to your CV and research experience after completing a graduate school application? I wouldn't think it was, but my advisor mentioned something about it. I thought I'd ask here real quickly.

I've already completed a few that had early deadlines, but there have been a few unexpected developments that may improve my chances. I was just hired to be a TA for my last semester as an undergraduate and I'll know within a week if I get funding to go to an international conference in March. I also should have a paper ready to submit to a journal by the end of January.

As far as I know, most schools do not allow the uploaded documents to be updated after the application is submitted.

However, I found out that, there are a few schools that urge the students to submit their applications as fast as possible and let the students update the documents later.
If I remember correctly, USC is one of that.

I think if you cannot login to the application form to update your documents, you should contact the admission office and ask them case by case, depends on the school.

Wish you luck.

You can send an updated version of your CV to the admissions e-mail for your program, and they may or may not include it in your file. The best thing you can do is ask and explain that you received a new position since submitting your original application and you would like that to be reflected to the committee. A friend of mine did this when he received a new job, and many of his schools updated his application.
