Does the University of Chicago have a strong reputation for biological sciences specifically? I know that it's great for economics and law, but I've received mixed feedback about biology. I'm an international student trying to decide between options for masters programs.

Any input is appreciated!

It's a good school!  But to find out if you think it's good  for you, go to the department's website and pick out the faculty members you like.  Then go to PubMed and search their names.  The results will show you what they actually work on (besides the rarely updated lab websites) and how productive they are and what kinds of journals they publish in.

After all that, you will 100% know if you like the work that goes on there.  But yes, to quickly answer your question, I believe it does have some nice work coming out of it!  I'm no expert though.

Hey, thanks for your reply! I've actually already done that, and there are 4 faculty members that do work that is closely aligned with my interests. They regularly publish in high-ranking journals as well.

I was asking more to get a general sense of how the university is perceived. Other schools that I'm considering are much more well-known in Europe, which is why I asked for opinions here. Decisions are difficult!

It's considered a pretty prestigious school here and internationally.  In my personal opinion, (I'm from the Midwest, just for reference) it's an awesome school.
