Hey everyone,

I was wondering if you could provide me a benchmark GRE for each section to have a shot at these two schools.

Undegrad GPA - 3.77, Majored in Poli sci - 4.0, Double minored in Business Writing and Communications (4.0, 4.0)

MPP - I'm halfway through it right now, doing a specialty in Education policy. Grades are far from set, but I'm doing well so far.

Research - Will have a minimum of 5 months at an ed policy think tank focused on education inequality/opportunity. Another 5 months or so at another think tank with a focus on district culture. Might also have an internship at the Scottish Funding Council, either that, or it'll be 8 months at the first think-tank.

Other factors - a bunch of work at a few non profits, hopefully will get the NYC Urban fellowship program, research internships at a leading non-profit law firm and a research internship at a policy/politics magazine. I'll be applying in a few years most likely, want to graduate from my MPP, pay off some debt, and get some more experience in a research/policy setting.

I'm very passionate about ed policy, and want to do a degree like Harvards EPM - which looks absolutely perfect for me.

You have nice stats so far.

I was accepted at Columbia TC and UPenn back in 2015. Masters in Music Education and Masters in intercultural communication, respectively.

But I ended up in Canada doing teaching certificate instead.

I had 3.83 GPA, 55% Verbal, 80% Quanti, 4.0 AWA. (mind that English is my second language)

I hear that Ed Policy is one of the most competitive fields, along with IED.

Harvard accepted M.Ed average stats are: 80% Verbal, 60% Quanti, 4.5 AWA.

Since Ed Policy tends to be on the more competitive side compared to other cohorts, you may want to shoot a little bit higher than that, but generally the rule is to shoot for as high as you can. Do your best on GRE and you would make an excellent applicant. MPP should definitely help as well. (many of classes in Ed Policy might be just a review for you though, won't you be bored?)

I'm going to be applying to Harvard and Columbia for fall 2017. Maybe I'll see you around!
