DannyLee Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Clock struck midnight on the second day of the new year 2016. Don't worry, my FAFSA has been completed [Giggle]. As I practice patience waiting for Boston College School of Social Work to let me know whether or not I've been admitted for Fall of 2016, I wanted to reach out to see if anyone else joins me in this canoe out on the ocean to perhaps get to know a potential future colleague!
SWstudent Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi There, I applied to the program, as well. Best of luck. waiting is the worst!
ericampiazza Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hey there! I am ABOUT to apply to BC MSW program with the global track. It's my number one school because well the MSW program is killer. My background is working in Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan and also with United Nations Women. While in UN Women, I had coordinated and evaluated a "safe and peaceful schools" project and also helped with coordinating a team of youth researchers for a UN research project on youth perceptions of gender in Kyrgyzstan. I also started a music and arts program at the refugee center that I used to intern at. I have four references and a publication on nonviolence in the Journal of Gandhian Studies. I also have awards from my school for community service and anthropology. The only real downfall is my GPA that is a 3.43 .... it's not HORRIBLE, but definitely not that great. Anyways, I am really wondering what the backgrounds are of the applicants just for the MSW program, NOT the MSW/PhD program because obviously the credentials will be mainly research. I did find on Facebook the Boston School of Social work website. The students that were accepted into the MSW program with a global studies concentration were on there and there was a cute video about them too. Can you give me some of your background? Have you been accepted yet?
