tigereye Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I'm supposed to present at a conference in the Spring and I'm wondering what software to use for the presentation. I regularly use Powerpoint and I'm most comfortable with it, but I recently came across Piktochart, which can be used for making infographics and in presentations. I'm just curious if anyone has experience using this for presentations and if you can share how it went? I haven't written the paper this is on just yet, and will probably be presenting this as current research (which it is), rather than a finished piece, so a presentation vs. reading is what I'm going for. Thoughts?
morningdew Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I use Piktochart for mostly making infographics. Just curious, is this your first conference? I would just say stick with PowerPoint. I also love using Google slides. Instead of focusing on software, I would say really concentrate on your content since you haven't written your paper yet. Make you you have the necessary structures and information. Go simpler, I have seen too many presentations where people try to pack in too many words on a slide.
Lisa_McCoy Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Stick to Power Point. As you said, it is extremely user friendly.
suzieq Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I've tried using Piktochart to make infographics, but it hasn't turned out well when I customized too much from the template (which I am prone to do). If you find a template that is a really close match for your content, then it could be useful.
AP Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I use Prezi. I haven't thought of Piktochart for presentations primarily because it takes me forever to put together a good visual aid. I am more familiar with Prezi and I don't need to invest as much time in it.
morningdew Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Yea, just stick with PowerPoint. I love Google Slides too. As a person who loves creative presentation, I find that most people don't care about whether your presentation is digitally creative or not. Just make it clean and readable.
