I am applying to some history and American Studies programs that ask for a writing sample.

Here is my conundrum- I have a bachelors in History and have one paper that is OK. I also have an excellent paper that I wrote in law school, but is pretty heavy in legalese. However, it does have a historical component. Which sample should I clean up and submit?

I think if you feel your law paper is the best, you should use that one. How difficult would it be to translate the legalese?

It should be OK. I haven't really glanced over it much because I am studying for the GRE (eek) but do feel it is a better piece of work. Argh!! I really hope I can get everything done on time.
