another_applicant Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Has anyone else been invited to University of Minnesota's recruiting weekend February 15-17 (not really a weekend) for biostatistics? Anyone planning on going? Has anyone attended in the past? I'm not sure what to expect! Most advice I see for weekends like this are for interviews - but I've already been accepted and there won't be an interview component. Does this change anything about what I should expect for the visit?
Darling_g Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I have been accepted into Ee department but haven't heard of a campus visit. I went to Duke campus visit. You just meet with your advisor, talk with current student and they try to convince you this is your best choice. I would recommend to go, to see if you like the campus and the professor.
cyberwulf Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Recruiting visits usually look exactly like interview visits, except that you aren't being evaluated. You'll meet students and faculty, and learn about the department.
localfdr Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 @cyberwulf is the dress code for recruiting visits also the same as for interview visits? Or is it more casual?
cyberwulf Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I would dress pretty much the same: professional wear, but no suit But you can get away with slightly more casual attire. localfdr 1
