Hey Everyone,

I took the GRE last week and did worse than any practice test I took and I"m wondering whether I even have time to retake it or if it's worth it...

My first application deadline is Dec 1st.. and the rest are all Dec 15th.

V650, M760 (on test day I was nervous and ending up pressed for time on the math... with the practice tests I was consistently getting an 800)

I'm particularly worried about the math percentile (it will be under 90th percentile).

The earliest I would want to retake it would be somewhere in between December 10th and December 15th. In that case would schools even get it in time for it to be included in my application review?

I'm applying to Neuroscience Ph.D. Programs (mainly Cognitive Neuroscience).

Does anyone know if these scores within range for the following schools?

Princeton

UPenn

Boston University

Yale

Dartmouth

Georgetown

Columbia,

UCSF

MIT

Brown

Thank You!

Unless these schools are specifically asking for an 800 (I don't know anything specific about these schools)... I wouldn't worry about it. With the math, its hard, because pretty much any small slip up can cause you to drop below the 90th. This means it could be very easy to encounter the same problem again, and then you spent even more money for a similar score, or to only improve it by perhaps 10 points. Even on this site, where people tend to have inflated scores I think I've only seen an 800 once, and a 790 a couple of times.
