International Students in US: F-1 vs J-1 visa

Hi, everybody, can anyone talk about the main differences between the F-1 and J-1 visa? Also, if you have experience with that, can you share your experience? Thanks.

I've experienced both type of visas, each has its pros and cons. Which one is the best gonna be based on specific individual situation.

Stats PhD is included in the STEM majors, right?
