GussetPl8 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) So after applying to a few aerospace masters programs I have finally heard back from my first application: CU Boulder. Excitingly, I was accepted! However the acceptance came with the following addition: You have already been considered for funding (TA/RA/fellowship support). This acceptance is made without an offer of financial support from the department; however, financial aid information (e.g. student loans) is available from the University of Colorado, Office of Financial Aid... etc. Can anyone with experience, or even just an outside opinion offer me some insight to what this means? It seems apparent that this is a polite way of saying "you're in but paying for it", however I do not want to dismiss any potential schools until I am sure that funding is not likely. I appreciate the feedback! Edited February 24, 2016 by GussetPl8

I appreciate the feedback! I think what you understand is correct. The program accepts you but does not give you financial aid. Anyway, congratulation for your first admit. Even it has no funding, this is still a lot better than a rejection. Edited February 24, 2016 by iloveOM typo GussetPl8 1

I appreciate the feedback! This is very much like what I heard from University of Central Florida for my PhD application status. They have offered me admission but with no funding!! I even contacted them regarding this issue and they said that if you have not received any email upon funding, then there is no choice for that!!! Do not be sad anyway ... I think it's quite common between other applicants as well Good luck GussetPl8 1
