TenaciousTurtle Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Hi! Will a master's degree from FSU's stats department put me on my way to getting a PhD in complex systems or neuroscience imaging? They've accepted me and offered a practically 100% tuition waiver. However, when I applied for the program what I thought I wanted was a "data science" degree. I realize now that my interests are actually in research, namely, complex systems or neuroscience imaging (probably complex systems), which I understand have similar computer science and mathematical foundations. So instead of accepting the offer, I could take some more undergrad courses in comp sci/math and then apply to a MS or PhD in a field more similar to my interests. Am I wrong to discount the value of this opportunity in furthering my goals? Thanks! Mr. T. Edited February 29, 2016 by TenaciousTurtle
Spaceman23 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Sounds like you should be studying applied math or neuroscience. Not Stats.
