Has anyone heard anything about when they'll be sending admissions? Also, did everyone get invited to the open house?

I was accepted via email on Feb 9th and got my official acceptance materials in the mail around 2 weeks after. I was invited to the grad open house as well, so maybe it's a good sign. Hopefully you will hear back soon!

no not really, do you? Supposed to get a packet in the next few weeks hopefully it'll have more info

I got the packet already and it didn't really give much info. It just included an acceptance letter, loan info and instructions on how to accept the offer. Perhaps the grad open house will give us more information.

I received an invite to the graduate open house, and boy was it such a tease. When I saw St. John's in my inbox I thought is this too good to be true? Well it sure was.

 

how important/beneficial is it to go their open house? It is not speech specific, so I'm not sure whether I plan to go or not.

I don't really know what the open house entails, but it says that directors/professors from their various Master's programs would be there. If you haven't gotten an invite to that yet, you probably will soon. They've emailed me a few times and sent me fliers, haha. I also received an invite to an Admitted Grad Students Mixer when I got my packet in the mail, but that's not until April 13th. That cuts very close to the deadline to commit to a school.

I will definitely accept if this is the only school I get into, but I still haven't heard back from the 4 other schools that I've applied to. If I get into my first choice, I will decline st. johns. We have until April 15th to accept/reject the offer. I think that deadline is the same for most other schools too.
